This Saturday, May 5, the Alliance of AIDS Services - Carolinas is hosting an AIDS Walk + Ride in downtown Raleigh. I have organized a team to participate in the events. There are 1 and 3 mile walks and 30, 60, and 100 mile bike rides. I will be doing the 30 mile bike ride1. The walks and rides serve two purposes, to raise awareness and to raise support for various organizations doing work to fight HIV/AIDS. I have chosen for the money I raise to be donated to the Duke Pediatrics AIDS Unit, which "provides specialized HIV care to HIV-infected children from North Carolina and adjacent states."
Here's where you come in...
I am attempting to raise $250 for the cause. I'm not looking for one person to donate all of that. I am looking to you all to team up to help me raise that together. All it takes is 25 people donating $10 to get it done. Think about where you could sacrifce $10 in your daily life that you could donate here instead2.

Thanks for your support. If you want any info on participating, let me know. I'd love to have you join my team.
- ↩If Matt Lavin has anything to say about it, I will be doing the 60 mile ride.
- ↩Of course, you can give more than $10 if you want.

cool, ride like the wind
i just donated the 10 bucks
i picked my title, "ambassador"
I wanted to pick "bishop" but I decided to not associate myself with TD Jakes at this point in my life; I do have a sweet first lady though
Joye and I are in for $20 ...all we had to do was sacrifice 20 Jr. Bacon Cheesburgers.
Thanks for allowing us to join the fight.
Do all the donations you are getting count towards the other riders? Matt and I aren't doing very well, but we're part of a team, right?
Well, it all depends on how ou look at it. I mean, all the money goes towards the same cause, but there are winners, and what we'll call not winners, in the fund raising game.
i wholeheartedly support fund-raising competition, but just as a warning, i once told my sister she couldn't get an A in calculus in high school, and she got a 104 average for the year just to prove me wrong---
i've learned that i usually lose when challenging Dr. Traci Rowe to something
Bring it.
I am already in competition with someone else, and every time I think I am pulling away, she creeps right back up.
Just as an update...
Our team goal is $2,000 and we are sitting at $1,212. So, if you've been thinking of donating, now's the time to make it happen.
Bring it!!! I am not scared of you, we will just see who wins this competition!!
And you using your height to scare little old ladies into donating money, just isn't cool!!
Just remember how boring it was a week ago when I wasn't signed up!
Goodluck!
PS. Everyone reading this should donate!!! :)
