Here is where I am planning to have a well drilled.

I got this picture from Jason who was in Laisamis in July 2008. The lone building there is the Laisamis Missions Centre, which is used for a preschool, food distribution center, adult education, and medical center. Crazy huh?
And they do all that without clean water.
Go check out my site for my water project. Go ahead and subscribe to my feed. That way you won't miss anything when I finally get it up an running.
They look like they need some water, right?

its amazing that there is water somewhere there.
Steph, Thanks for stopping by and asking a great question. I asked that same question. Here is part of the response from Pastor David Ndegwa, who is a missionary at the Laisamis Mission Centre.
In Laisamis there are only 2 boreholes (wells) one owned by the catholic mission and the other one by Laisamis town council some of the piped water available is from this borehole and it is charged 2sh. (shillings) per bucket and the one for catholic mission is purely for running their projects the school and the hospital.
So, yes, there is water, but it is very limited. In and around Laisamis there is a population of 65,000-80,000.
