Coming and Going on the Back of a Donkey

Tonight, at our home group meeting, I had this random thought.
We were recapping the past few weeks. It was mentioned that I talked about the story of Jesus and the woman at the well a few weeks ago. We remembered how Jesus and his disciples were going from Jerusalem, in Southern Israel, to Galilee, in Northern Israel, during that story. Then, somehow it came up that eventually they would head back to Jerusalem and Jesus would end up asking his disciples to go find him a donkey to ride into town.
This is where I had my random thought, I'm sure it's not the first time anyone has ever thought of this, but it was definitely the first time that I had thought of it. So, we'll call it an original thought.
It hit me, when someone mentioned Jesus riding into Jerusalem on donkey, that Jesus was riding to the place of his death on the back of a donkey. Then, I thought about Mary and her trip to Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. As the story goes, she rode there on the back of a donkey. So, you can probably see where I'm going, but it seems coincidental, at the least, that Jesus rode into the city of his birth and the city of his death on the back of a donkey.
Have you ever thought about that before? Is there something there? Is it just that donkey was the available mode of transportation of the day or is there something else?
What do you think?

nice thought
Oh, shoot! coincidence? I just read on essays that Jesus rode in a donkey and Mary as well when he was born. I just never gave it any logical reasoning. But hey, thanks for giving a deep thought about it. Nice one.
Thanks.
